New UK guidelines have recently emerged to help coaches and players to recognise the signs of concussion and this is important because the longer term impact of concussions can be so, so significant.
Here, Dr Emma lays out signs and symptoms of concussion, and why the new motto ‘If In Doubt Sit Them Out’ is crucial. Without a conservative approach to her rehabilitation and recovery, her future brain health and even quality of life could suffer.
