Speak up to people!

Vitality Roses Beth Cobden and Funmi Fadoju share their best advice for teens.

Teenage years bring a multitude of challenges, particularly as the female body begins changing so much, balancing school and family life with sport and an active lifestyle can be tricky!

Words of encouragement from Beth Cobden in our video stem from having the courage to speak up if you have questions or confusions on anything to do with the female body and what women and girls go through – and we couldn’t agree more!

The fact is, if you have a question about something, then it’s very likely someone else has the same question as you.

Taking the time to think and be curious enable us to connect with what’s happening in our bodies, so that we can ‘get to know our normal.’

Which brings us on to Funmi’s pointers.

Knowing your body is the key to spotting changes that could indicate a bigger health issue at play.

This starts with listening to your body more closely. As netballers with lots of games and training sessions, all to squeeze in around normal life, it’s important to give yourself time to rest if you need to, hydrate if you need to, or ask for help if you need it.
